Built for servers

Every table. Every tip-out. Every dollar you actually keep.

NeighCheck is built for servers. Log shifts in seconds, track cash tips and card tips separately, calculate tip-out automatically, and know exactly what you owe in taxes — before April.

Restaurant servers run more financial math in one shift than most desk jobs do in a week. Cash and card tips don't sort themselves. Tip-out to bartenders, bussers, food runners, and hosts is different at every restaurant. The tips your manager reports to the IRS don't always match what you actually walked out with. NeighCheck handles every line of that on autopilot.

It started with one server (the developer) using a notes app to keep track of cash tips and giving up after the third lost shift. The first version of NeighCheck shipped to fix that. v4 fixed everything else.

What you get

The full feature set, tuned to your job.

Cash vs. card tips, side by side

Log cash and card tips as separate fields, see them broken out on your dashboard, and reconcile what's in your apron with what hits your check.

Tip-out, every which way

Percentage tip-out. Dollar tip-out. Per-role tip-out (bar / busser / runner / host). Pooled house tips. Save a template per restaurant and stop doing the math after a closing shift.

Section tracking

Which sections actually pay. Patio vs. main dining room vs. bar top. The data answers the next time you negotiate sections.

Real hourly rate

Hours worked + tips + base wage − tip-out = the number you actually need. NeighCheck does it per shift, per week, per quarter.

Tax savings jar

After every shift, NeighCheck tells you what to move to a savings account based on your real progressive bracket — not a flat 20% rule of thumb.

Wage Wire for servers

Anonymous, verified hourly averages from other servers — by region, by chain, by section type.

Tip reporting tracker

Compare what you actually made to what got reported on your check. See the gap. Close it.

Year-end export

One PDF + one CSV your tax preparer can actually use. Reverse engineering W-2 boxes is not your job.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does NeighCheck handle tip-out?
Yes — pick your tip-out mode (percentage, dollar amount, role-split, or pool), save a template per restaurant, and the math runs automatically on every shift. Edit per-shift if your tip-out was unusual that night.
Can I track cash and card tips separately?
Yes. Cash and credit-card tips are separate fields on every shift, separately summed on every report. The split shows up on your daily, weekly, and tax views.
Does it handle multiple restaurants?
Yes. Multiple jobs with per-job colors, hourly rates, and pay schedules. Switch jobs on a shift in one tap. Annual totals consolidate everything for taxes.
Will it remind me of slow nights to avoid?
Insights will show you which days, sections, and weather conditions actually pay. The recommendation to drop a Tuesday lunch is yours to make.
How does the tax estimator handle reported vs. actual tips?
The dashboard projects taxes off your full income (cash included, even if not reported to your employer). The Tip Reporting Tracker shows the gap so you stay accurate.
