Built for baristas

Pull the shot. Log the shift.

Most barista tips come from a shared jar. NeighCheck tracks the pool split correctly, calculates the real hourly rate including tips, and projects taxes for a wage that swings by the season.

Coffee shop tips are usually pooled, often hourly-distributed, and almost always lumped into your paycheck rather than handed to you in cash. That makes them easy to ignore — and easy to mis-account for at tax time. NeighCheck builds a clean record of what you actually made per hour worked, separated by location if you bounce between shops.

What you get

The full feature set, tuned to your job.

Hourly-distributed pools

Most cafés divide the jar by hours worked. Log the pool total and your hours, and NeighCheck calculates your share.

Card tip pool tracking

Modern POS systems run tips through cards into a digital pool. NeighCheck tracks the gross, your split, and your effective rate.

Latte art bonus? Track it.

Custom income fields for performance bonuses, sales bonuses, and beans-sold incentives.

Real hourly rate over base wage

See what you actually make per hour — base wage plus pool share — and how it shifts week to week.

Tax savings for service-industry pay

Tipped income is taxable income. NeighCheck applies real brackets and tells you what to set aside, even when your tips already ran through payroll.

Multi-shop support

Working two cafés or one full-time and one weekend shop? Track them as separate jobs with separate rates and pools.

Schedule view & paycheck predictor

Add scheduled shifts and see projected earnings before the next pay period closes.

Wage Wire — barista feed

Anonymous hourly numbers from other baristas. Use it when you're considering the new shop across town.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need to log every shift or just the totals?
Per-shift logging is what makes the insights work — section, time, and weather correlations only emerge with shift-level data. But you can paste a week's totals if you're starting from a past period.
My tips already come in my paycheck. Do I still need this?
Yes, and arguably more — when tips run through payroll you lose visibility into the gross. NeighCheck rebuilds it so you can see your actual hourly rate, plan taxes correctly, and notice when the pool numbers don't add up.
Does NeighCheck integrate with Square or Toast?
Not directly. Manual entry is intentional — a 10-second log per shift, with optional photos of the tip-out sheet.
